When you need individual counseling, or your partner will not come to therapy with you.

You wonder if you really are seeing yourself clearly, and if you truly understand yourself and where you can grow and develop as a person. You've mouthed the words of self-love, but when you look in the mirror, doubts linger. You feel like you are not enough. You struggle to trust your intuition. You struggle to know what you want, and even when you do, it’s hard to actually make it happen.  Do you truly feel connected to the essence of who you are?

When you don’t fully know and love yourself, it can be hard to enter into a deep and trusting relationship with another person. It's much harder to be married and date when you don’t have a good connection with yourself.

You’re ready to stop feeling…

  • Drained and easily emotional

  • Unsure, insecure, worrying, and losing sleep over your future

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others

  • Frustrated with yourself, and the self-critical spiral starts

  • Anxious or depressed so much that you are having a hard time concentrating at work and at home

  • Struggling to adjust to life changes

It may feel unlikely now, but you can feel less overwhelmed or shut down by your emotions. You can stop the inner critic and have more self-acceptance. You can have more clarity in who you are and what you want. You can learn to accept yourself. And I can help you get there.

Individual therapy helps you become aware and curious about your inner world, building neurological wiring that fosters connection and integration to help you be your best self in the world.

    • Clarify emotions so they feel more clear and less chaotic.

    • Help you communicate clearly and calmly in your relationships and within yourself

    • Help your inner critic transform into a compassionate supporter.

    • Help you trust your own inner wisdom so you can be certain in yourself regardless of external circumstances.

    • Heal from past neglect or trauma.

  • Individual therapy, you can expect a safe, non-judgmental space to show up and process. Together, we’ll gently explore the stories and emotions that arise, giving each part of you the time and respect it needs to be heard. Sessions are paced at your comfort level, and you will always have choice and agency in the process. Our work will gradually help you feel more connected and compassionate with yourself and create space for healing and lasting change.

  • Individual therapy can help you reduce inner conflict, shift patterns of self-criticism, and create more harmony in your relationships with yourself and others. By working with your inner system, you are building resilience, clarity, and a sense of wholeness. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or simply a desire for deeper self-understanding.

In individual counseling, you’ll learn to accept and have compassion on your emotions shift to being more peaceful and calmer instead of critical, depressed, or chaotic.

You will develop more confidence and clarity in knowing yourself, trusting your wisdom, and making good decisions in life and love.

My Approach

In individual counseling, you’ll learn to listen to and accept yourself, regulate your emotions, trust yourself, grieve effectively, build healthier relationships, and become a more confident adult in the world.

My approach to individual counseling is based on a combination of internal family systems and other modalities that I have been trained in, which may include polyvagal theory, attachment theory, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical therapy, triple P parenting (level 4), and, if needed, EMDR and Brainspotting for processing trauma. When you engage in individual therapy with me, you’re not just talking about your experiences—you’re actually reshaping your brain.

We will explore:

  • Underlying emotions and body sensations that you may not have been aware of

  • Build your confidence in yourself, what you want, and in your decisions

  • Help you speak your truth in clear ways that both honor your true self but also promote effective relationship communication

  • Practicing self-compassion and self-acceptance

  • Heal from neglect and/or abuse

  • Building a new relationship with yourself, so you can bring yourself fully to your relationships and engage more fully in your life and relationships.

At the end of the day, I want you to know:

You are not broken. Every part of you has a purpose, even if it causes pain. Healing happens when you connect with your Self and safe others to receive the compassion and support that you have always needed.

Frequently asked questions —

  • Counseling for yourself is especially helpful if you feel overwhelmed or shut down by emotions, stuck in repetitive patterns, or disconnected from your needs and relationships. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, grief, past trauma, or general symptoms of distress. Individual therapy helps you restore emotional balance and create more secure ways of being. It’s also incredibly effective for people who want to better understand themselves and their interactions with others or their responses in relationships.

  • That’s completely valid. Many people come to IFS after trying other approaches that didn’t quite get to the heart of what they were feeling. IFS is different because it works at the emotional level, not just the behavioral or intellectual one. This modality helps you process and connect with deeper emotions, not just cope or “fix” surface symptoms. By focusing on the power of connecting to your own emotions, emotional reality, and providing self-compassion and healing, IFS offers a meaningful way to create lasting change from the inside out. • In an individual therapy session, your therapist will guide you through to access and make sense of your emotional experiences. It’s not about talking in circles or just venting. IFS is a therapeutic intervention that helps you identify aspects of yourself, access core emotions, and have corrective emotional experiences. It’s a gentle but powerful way to work with difficult feelings, inner conflict, and past wounds. Your therapist, who has training in IFS, will help you feel safe, seen, and validated as you explore these layers of yourself and your story. To learn more about IFS click here.

  • The pace is different for everyone. Some people notice changes quickly, while others take more time to build trust with their parts. Therapy is not about rushing, but about creating lasting shifts that honor your system’s needs.
